About this organization

The Victim Witness Assistance (VWA) program provides support services to crime victims and witnesses who are subpoenaed to appear in either Provincial Court or Court of Queen's Bench, in Winnipeg.

Services to victims and witnesses include:

  • written correspondence with the Crown attorney about their specific case concerns
  • court preparation
  • accompaniment to court
  • court cancellation notifications
  • reimbursement of expense claims

Some witness expenses are covered by the Compensation for Victims of Crime Program (CVCP). To learn more about the CVCP and the types of services it offers, visit this page.
