About this service
For many years, Christians behind the iron curtain in the communist countries had to meet and worship in secret. Since the fall of communism began in 1989, freedom of religion has been restored to a degree, but there remains a great need for more meetinghouses.
Congregations frequently meet in rented facilities with no heat or electricity. Long, dark flights of stairs often make it impossible for the elderly and disabled to attend services.
Faith Mission has responded to urgent requests for help by providing assistance for a church building project in Poltava and in the Carpathian Mountain region of Ukraine.
The unstable economy and rising inflation rates present challenges for these projects but we rejoice with these congregations for their new places of worship.
