About this organization
Swan River Adult Education Inc. provides adult learners the opportunity to develop life literacy and employment skills, improve their academic qualifications and engage in life long learning in a supportive and respectful atmosphere. The program enhances the self-esteem and self-confidence of adult learners by applying best practices known to adult education. The program responds to individuals and community needs by establishing partnerships that expand opportunities and outcomes for the learners.
SRAE offers adult education courses in a variety of subject areas from Grades 9-12 as well as a Literacy Program that offers learners an opportunity to refresh their skills and knowledge in areas such as Math, English, Technology and Science.
The Mature Student High School Diploma is achieved when a learner has earned eight Manitoba high school credits. Four of these credits must be at the Grade 12 level and the other four credits can be from Grades 9-12.
Who can use it?
Learners must be at least 19 years of age and must have been out of school for six months or more.
