About this organization
A new local movement to help openly celebrate individuality, diversity, and community in a safe, accepting environment. Equality for all.
The Pride Portage movement is a not-for-profit group that is voluntarily organized by passionate advocates of human rights and equality in our community of Portage la Prairie, a small city of 13,000 residents.
We are a recently established community group that stands up for the rights of all citizens of Portage la Prairie, particularly those of the LGBTTQ* community (as well as Indigenous peoples and Women).
The hope of the Portage movement is for people of all backgrounds to stand in solidarity to raise LGBTTQ* awareness and express their support of all diversity and individuality in our community and beyond, an area which has been known for many years as rigid and conservative-minded.
