Ending homelessness in our Community must start with a clear understanding of homelessness, the contributing factors of an individuals homelessness, and identifying the at risk of homelessness. Homelessness is a continuously shifting state, and may be chronic or episodic. The homeless population is often referred to in two categories:
Unsheltered Homeless
- Sleeping on the street/bush
- Sleeping in car/tent
- Squatting
Sheltered Homeless
- Emergency Shelters
- Transitional Housing
- Couch surfers
- Hostels/hotels
- Institutions/Group homes
