About this service
Parenting Group for Dads is a 10-week parenting group to help you discover how your trauma can trigger you as a parent. There are very few parenting groups for men, even fewer that acknowledge and address the challenges that can occur for those whose parenting is impacted by their own past.
Our Parenting Group will aim to provide education about what happens when our brains have experienced trauma in our development and how this can be triggered by raising children. This group is designed to provide a community for male parents to:
- become aware of triggers
- learn how to regulate their nervous systems and emotions
- come together and learn with and from each other about how to be better parents than those that they may have grown up with
- heal with a potential to break the cycle of inter-generational trauma
