About this service
COVID-19 UPDATE: Our in-person drug checking service has been temporarily stopped. Lantern's work with UVic will continue through our updated sample drop-off model
We use a variety of instruments - Raman spetrometer, fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer, gas chromatography - mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and fentanyl strip tests.
With these technologies we can determine the major components and cuts as well as detect the presence of fentanyl in the submitted sample
NOTE: There are limitations to these technologies and a disclaimer and limitations will be read to ALL service users
