About this service
By strengthening your decision-making skills, you can bring more stability to your own life and that of your children. Many of these decisions need to be made with a former spouse or partner - referred to in this class as your co-parent - who may have temporary or long-term difficulty in making reasonable decisions.
This New Ways for Families class will focus on four key decision-making skills, which can help you whether or not your co-parent is also using these skills. Ideally, these skills help you both make decisions out of court, such as in mediation. However, if you end up in court, learning and practicing these skills can be helpful in how you present your facts to a judge.
The class is based on made-up examples from common situations. You will not be asked to nor allowed to share your personal situation. The focus is on learning and practicing the skills using standard examples.
