About this service
WAVAW offers support and advocacy for survivors of marginalized genders cis and trans women, Two-Spirit, trans and/or non-binary survivors while they are receiving medical attention from the Sexual Assault Service at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH).
WAVAW support staff can provide information about sexual assault, legal options, and referrals in order to support survivors through making important health decisions after an assault.
No ID or medical insurance is required to access the Sexual Assault Service. Police will not be notified unless survivors specifically request to make a report. Hospital Accompaniment is available 24 hours a day, every day. Transportation to the hospital can also be arranged.
