About this service
Income security is critical for seniors who want to continue to live a healthy, active lifestyle as they age. The federal and provincial governments in Canada provide a wide range of programs to help ensure all seniors can maintain a good quality of life. The Seniors Supplement is a provincial top-up to the federal Old Age Security (OAS)/Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) payment. The Seniors Supplement ensures a conditionally guaranteed minimum income level for residents of BC and is paid to low-income residents of BC who are 65 years of age and older and who are receiving OAS/GIS or federal Allowance (formerly Spouses Allowance).
