About this service
ISSP is a community-based, one-to-one service for medium to high risk youth (aged 13-19) that provides an alternative to custody. We provide each youth with a one-to-one worker. These workers work to build a positive relationship with each young person. Through this relationship our workers are able to encourage and support the youth to develop appropriate educational, vocational, interpersonal and social skills, and to function in society in a healthy, positive manner. They also support youth to participate in planned activities, to access other community resources and to comply with the conditions of their court orders. The program complements the case management and supervision provided by the youths probation officer.
