About this service
We operate 365 days per year within both PHS and Atira Property Management SROs located in the vicinity of the DTES.
The population the IHT serves is a marginalized community familiar with neglect. Our aim is to assist them in maintaining and improving their health, maintaining their tenancy and achieving any goals they may have by connecting them with community resources.
Those goals are often improving their housing, using safe harm reduction practices, accessing health care, improving food access, accessing Ministry, legal or financial supports. Through a consistent, pragmatic approach we have been successful in helping residents achieve their goals while supporting them as they learn to meet them on their own. By being on site every day of the year we are able to be in constant contact with a residents clinical care teams, legal representation, etc., to ensure appointments are met, medications are administered correctly and, when crises occur, are addressed immediately.
