About this service
The Justice System Education Program for Indigenous Peoples (JSEP-IP) provides culturally-sensitive legal education for Indigenous communities throughout BC.
For youth, we offer:
- Outreach Sessions These legal education sessions provide an opportunity for youth to discuss justice-related issues in their own community. The sessions are designed for Indigenous youth attending Band Schools or public schools that have an Aboriginal population of at least 50%. The sessions are informal, relaxed and positive.
- The At-Risk Youth "Courtlink" Program This program provides Indigenous at-risk youth with and in-depth understanding of BC's criminal justice systems, including roles and responsibilities of different organizations and available supports. This program serves Indigenous youth who are at risk for trouble with the law, school dropout and substance abuse.
