About this service
We are a 33-unit single room accommodation providing transitional housing to adult women at risk, transwomen inclusive, who are or have been impacted by violence and/or abuse. Our goal is to provide a safe and clean environment and to nurture a sense of community and mutual support. We operate from a feminist, harm-reduction, anti-oppression perspective.
Staff offer support services to women 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A nurses clinic runs three days a week, providing on-site health care. Breakfast and dinner are prepared in an onsite Community Kitchen seven days a week, and lunch staples and snacks are also available in the afternoons. For safety reasons and to enhance the feeling of home, no visitors are allowed.In some cases you can contact the housing option directly, but we encourage you to contact Atira first and we can help find the best fit for your unique situation.
