About this organization
The South Vancouver Learning Centre (SVLC) offers services to at-risk youth aged 12 18 years in grades 8, 9, and 10 that build on existing strengths and provide opportunities in academics, literacy, life skills, vocational skills, self-care, volunteer and community involvement and computer skills. Youth can attend for a full day, in the evening or part-time depending on their needs.
As part of person centered planning we help facilitate a successful transition from the school program to another school program, employment, or other services available to the youth. Transition planning includes documenting goals achieved / worked on, support strategies used, recommendations for continued success, and ideas for possible ongoing support. This is a collaborative process between the youth and their support network.
