About this service
Makola Housing Society is the largest Indigenous affordable housing provider in British Columbia serving more than 5,000 family members.
Makola offers a variety of housing to suit the needs of our applicants and tenants. We offer family housing in townhouse complexes, apartment buildings and single family dwellings. Makola also offers housing geared to singles and couples and has two assisted living facilities for our Elders and seniors.
Makola manages more than 1,600 homes serving both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.
The majority of our housing is located off-reserve in urban centres and we have expanded into rural areas and on-reserve through partnerships with First Nations.
We provide housing and operate across Vancouver Island and Northwest BC and have nearly 100 full-time employees.
