About this service
The Ksan Pets Program provides an onsite kennel at both the Ksan House (Terrace Transition House) and Ksan Residence & Shelter (KRS). Staying connected to our pets provides a stronger sense of safety for all family members. The opportunity and support for people to provide care for their pets is an important part of moving forward. Having a pet shelter behind a human shelter also sends a message about animals having value, needing protection, and that all lives are important.
Our goals also include:
- Public education about the connections between domestic violence and abuse of pets.
- Integration of safety information in existing Ksan Society programs for women and children.
- Support for existing animal care and rescue organizations.
