About this service
The Life Skills Development Program at SCS provides support for individuals with broader adaptive functioning skills and assists individuals to access community resources.
SCSs supports are flexible and evolve according to the changing needs of the persons served, teaching the important life skills necessary for independent living including budgeting, shopping, cooking, cleaning, critical thinking skills, basic medical knowledge, emergency preparedness, transportation (Transit), responsibility, accountability, socializing and inclusion in their community.
We believe that supporting a persons physical, social, emotional, spiritual, educational, recreational, vocation and employment needs lead to an improved quality of life and increased independence. Independent living often enables individuals to actively contribute to their neighborhood and community.
