The Rising Sun Project acknowledges that all citizens in our city need a home.
The Phoenix Society in conjunction with VanCity has developed ways to offset many of the usual barriers of purchasing a home.
- 23 Affordable homeownership studio strata units for men and women who have achieved a recovery-based lifestyle and value community participation
- 18 studio transitional housing apartments for men and women who are in a recovery-based lifestyle
- Amenity rooms
- 5 studio transitional housing apartments dedicated for individuals coming through the justice system
- 29 supportive housing beds with enhanced supports and dedicated outdoor recreation space for men re-integrating into the community from the justice system.
The Shared Equity Home Ownership at Rising Sun represents a new model for a community. Aimed at individuals who are making positive changes in their lives and who value community participation, Rising Sun gives them a way to enter the real estate market.
