About this service
The PKLC is an intuition free adult learning center at the Phoenix Centre and a key service for participants rebuilding their lives.
The Phoenix-Kwantlen Learning Centre empowers adult learners to re-enter the educational arena and the labor market through individualized assessment and action planning that include lifelong learning goals. The centre provides community-based instruction from basic literacy level through Grade 11. It also helps adult learners move on to Kwantlen Polytechnic Universitys campus or to other formal educational settings.
Services Include:
- Assessing and upgrading English, Math, and study skills
- Assisting with AGD or ABE completion
- Offering academic upgrading or preparation for further post-secondary programs, apprenticeship or trades training
- Strengthening participants career action plans and applications for funded training programs that improve their employability
- Improving literacy and numeracy for jobs or further training
