About this service
The Suicide Prevention, Education and Counselling (SPEAC) program provides support and tools necessary to significantly reduce the risk of suicide.
SPEAC provides suicide risk assessment, urgent-response and short-term counselling for children and youth. Services offered include:
- Individual and family counselling
- Risk assessment
- Consultation
Workshops are available to schools, community agencies and special interest groups. Participants will learn how to identify warning signs of suicide and ways of providing support to those at-risk. For more information, download SPEAC - School Presentation Information.
Please note: Due to the high demand, please submit your request early. To schedule a workshop, please call 604.584.5811 and ask for a SPEAC Intake Worker.
Who can use it?
Surrey, White Rock & Langley children/youth 3-18, who have made a suicide attempt or may be at risk

Options Community Services - Main Office - Suicide Prevention, Education and Counselling is open Monday to Friday (8:30 am - 4:30 pm).
