About this service
SAFST is one of the Surrey Anti-Gang Family Empowerment (SAFE) programs funded by the National Crime Prevention Strategy. Provides culturally competent counsellors with a knowledge of immigrant backgrounds to support parents and their families of at risk and gang involved youth primarily in the Newton area.
The program focuses on immigrant and refuge families. This is an outreach program meeting families in preferred locations including home visits. SAFST is a member of the Children and Youth At Risk Table (CHART).
South Asian families who feel their children or youth may be at risk of gang involvement, are exhibiting negative behaviours and live primarily in the Newton area.
