Surrey Artswest Society

t was created in 1985 by a group of 8 artists who were interested in filling a need to create an artist community for Surrey. A community that supports all visual artists in growing their skills and promoting art activities within the community. The group provides connections between new and experienced artists, arrange for demonstrations from professional artists, volunteer art events in Surrey, and are a stepping stone for artists wanting to make the leap to a professional designation.

Members of Artswest appreciate, encourage and support lifelong learning, and accept all levels and styles, sharing in the love of art and art processes. Members produce visual arts in acrylics, oils, watercolors, pastel, drawing, mixed media, and mono prints, and more. All types of artists make up the group, from active to retired artists, young and old, women and men.
