About this service
The Summerland Food Bank serves the nutritional needs of Summerland residents in times of need. Originally founded by the Summerland United Church Women in 1984, the food bank has been in continuous operation since. This year we expect to support approximately 550 residents in 260 households. Pre-registration is required and you will be required to provide: Personal identification Birth certificates for any dependents Proof of residence in Summerland Statistical information for The Hunger Count. Once you are approved for Food Bank aid you can receive one box of food each month upon request. You may pick up your food box any Tuesday afternoon but you must make an appointment to do so before noon on that Tuesday. Emergency supplementary food is also available upon request.
