About this organization
Sidney residents are fortunate to live in a very safe community that has a low crime rate. The Citizens on Patrol (COP) program gets the community involved by supporting the police and working in partnership with them to improve safety and prevent crime. Under the direction of the police, COP volunteers patrol in vehicles in pairs and report any suspicious or criminal activity to which the police can prioritize and respond. The volunteers have no enforcement authority and do not leave their vehicles unless authorized to do so by the police.
