About this service
Welcoming Communities is a program to orient and settle new Canadians here on the Sunshine Coast.
Funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the British Columbia Settlement Integration Services (BCSIS) and in partnership with Capilano University, Welcoming Communities provides immigrants and new Canadians living on the Sunshine Coast a hand building skills and knowledge for success in Canada.
The program supports new Canadians via:
- Information about housing, employment, finances, education and other social services in our community
- Social and cultural activities and events
- Free English Language Support
- Opportunities to meet other immigrants and make new friends
