Chimo Community Services - Nova Transition House

Nova Transition House provides temporary accommodation in a safe and secure environment for women and their children who are experiencing violence or are at risk of violence.

We are a free and confidential service and are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with trained staff speaking more than 10 different languages. Women and children can stay up to 30 days while accessing emotional support and available resources. Residents can obtain assistance with immediate practical concerns such as health, legal issues, housing, financial needs, schooling, child care, and transportation.

Women of all ages, from all walks of life, cultures, educational and economic backgrounds may live with violence in their intimate relationships. In Canada 1 in 3 women experience violence from a man who is close to them at some point in their lives. Sometimes the violence gets so bad that women must flee for their lives and for the safety of their children.
