About this organization
The Society provides a public amenity by administering, maintaining and operating a community centre in the Steveston community of Richmond, B.C. for the use and benefit of the public. This includes a public park and children's playground. The Society offers programs and services for all members of the community including but not limited to: preschool, seniors, children and youth, adults, persons with disabilities, and at-risk youth. The Society also offers a wide variety of fitness programs developed to support the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the community-at-large. In addition, the Society provides programs to advance the public's appreciation of the arts by providing opportunities for artistic performances or exhibits, and arts-based programs, workshops and activities. The Society scholarship program, supported through an endowment with the Richmond Community Foundation, awarded grants to two area high schools.
