Sources Community Resource Centres - Behaviour Intervention & Mental Health program

The purpose of the Behaviour Intervention Mental Health program is to provide a behavioural intervention program for Children and Youth with Mental Health Issues (CYMH) and Children and Youth with Special Needs (CYSN) in Fort St. John and Fort Nelson.

For the youth care worker, the intent is to provide service that augments a CYMH clinicians treatment plan to reduce risk for a child or youth. For CYSN, SOURCES provides behavioural assessment and intervention to focus on skill acquisition. In addition to providing direct support to children and youth, this service will provide short-term intensive and outcome-focused education and support to improve families. The program will be goal-oriented and time-limited. It is anticipated that service will wrap up between 6 to 9 months. Post-discharge, the youth care worker will initiate a six-week follow-up call.
