CSFS - Prince George - Intensive Family Preservation Services

Sometimes families in crisis can avoid having their children removed from their care with the help of the IFPS program. This program offers crisis intervention and family counselling designed to keep children and families safe, preventing unnecessary out of home placement of children. We use a variety of counselling approaches (e.g., motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and parenting skills training) tailored to each family's unique needs. When services are finished, the family may choose to contact their clinician by phone or meet in person for a booster session to help maintain the progress the family has made. Follow-up calls or meetings can be requested by the family or their MCFD social worker, but like all of our services, follow-up is voluntary.
