About this organization
Prince George Folkfest/Multicultural Society was formed in 1974 as an umbrella organization to create a home base for various cultural groups in Prince George and surrounding areas.
Originally, the Society was intended as a platform for staging a new country-wide multicultural event on July 1 to celebrate Canadas birthday.
In 1985 the Society evolved to meet the ever changing needs and aspirations of the cultural communities it serves. During this process the Society changed its Constitution and Name to Multicultural Heritage Society of Prince George.
