About this service
Youth Justice Worker The Youth Justice Worker (YJW) provides services for young offenders referred to the Youth Justice Program (YJP) by the provincial government office Youth Probation Office (YPO) under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. In the Community Service Work Program, the YJW organizes and oversees charitable or public service work hours, restitution, impact of offence essays and/or in apologies mandated by the court as part of the rehabilitation program for individual young offenders. The duration of this program is usually three months. The YJP also provides an Intensive Support and Supervision Program (ISSP) for young offenders deemed to be at high risk and in need of more in depth and extensive support in the community in order to meet the terms of their probation. The duration of these programs is three months or longer.
