About this organization
The Powell River & District Christmas Cheer committee has been a local tradition, providing hampers and toys for families in need in the area, since the society formed in 1948. The committee helps around 250 families each year including around 300 children. The Christmas Cheer relies entirely on donations from the community. The committee is in need cash donations to purchase food, gift cards & gift certificates. This year you can help by donating money and/or adopting a family. Groups and people can sign up for the Adopt-A-Family program in which they take over the responsibility of purchasing Christmas dinner groceries and gifts for members of a selected family.
