About this service
Dealing with the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks. Alberni Low Energy Housing Society emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words.
Mission
1) To provide safe and affordable rental housing for low income families and individuals.
2) To increase energy efficiency and reduce long-term operational costs of the rental units through an energy upgrade program, as determined by the membership.
3) To provide training opportunities in building maintenance and energy efficient construction techniques.
4) To utilize net zero housing design principles for construction of new residential units.
