How are we geared towards students? Okanagan clinical counselling services offers several specialized counselling services that fit the busy schedules of students. Specifically, at occs we offer weekend and evening appointments upon request, which may allow students to access counselling services without having to miss class. Furthermore, we offer a sliding fee scale, enabling students to gain the mental health support they need even on a student budget or limited income. Occs also off fully subsidized (free) counselling for qualifying individuals who have experienced a work related accident (worksafebc), have been emotionally injured in a vehicle collision (icbc), have been impacted in some way by violence/crime (crime victim assistance), or have an indian status number (fnha). Finally, occs offers direct billing through green shield and other extended health programs. This saves students time and stress of having to mail in invoices themselves to their insurance companies and wait for coverage approval and refunds.
