Serving as the sole caregiver for a loved one can be a rewarding experience, but it can also be a stressful, demanding responsibility, especially when it is in addition to raising children or working a full-time job. Family caregivers are not alone, though. It is estimated that nearly 44 million Americans (predominately Baby Boomers) regularly care for an elderly relative.
With so many people depending on them, it is crucial that caregivers take the time to care for themselves. No matter how much they love the people they are caring for, caregivers need regular breaks to be their best. That is where Comfort Keepers respite care, referred to as short break care in some countries, can help.
