About this service
Our book return slot is now open 24 hours a day! Returned items may show as checked out on your account while we process your materials; please ignore we will clear your checked out items, thank you for your patience. We also have Book Bundles! Request forms are located outside the library doors, or online Children and Youth Book Bundle or Adult Book Bundle. The Library will be open for services, however please note that occasionally due to circumstances beyond our control we may need to restrict access or provide door-only service. About the Branch The new Chemainus branch opened in January 2020 on the corner of Cypress and Willow Street. Historically, the Chemainus branch has seen a lot of books and people pass through its doors since the first library opened in the Masonic Hall in 1949. The previous branch library opened on Legion Street in 1990 and served the community well for nearly 30 years.
