SSPC - Nelson Friends Of Refugees

We call ourselves the Nelson Friends of Refugees (NFOR), and we're a community initiative to support refugees in Nelson, BC.

The Nelson Friends of Refugees is a diverse group of community members who have gathered in response to the growing refugee crisis. In 2016/17 we successfully sponsored four young refugees from Iran, all of whom have successfully settled in Canada. We are now undertaking the sponsorship of a family of four from Eritrea.

We continue to partner with the St. Saviour Pro-Cathedral Anglican Church, a government recognized charity. The focus of our group is non-denominational and humanitarian.

Drawing on our diverse skills, interests and network connections, we are committed to find housing, employment, furniture, household goods, and health care for this young family.
