About this organization
The Links Housing Co-operative was developed in 1992 and was built in two phases.
Phase I was completed in November 1992 and consists of 19 units, 10 of which are subsidized and 9 of which are market. In a subsidized unit the housing charge (monthly rent) is based on 30% of the households gross monthly income.
Phase II was completed in June of 1995 and consists of 12 units, which are allocated as 8 subsidized and 4 market.
We are a non-profit housing co-operative, and collectively, the members pay the mortgage of the Co-operative.
Phase I is granted funds from the Federal Housing Ministry under the direction of Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).
Phase II is granted funds from the Provincial Housing Ministry under the direction of the British Columbia Housing and Management Commission (BCHMC). Therefore we are regulated by these government bodies to some degree.
