About this service
SOBC Nanaimo is a chartered non-profit society and an accredited local of the B.C. Special Olympics. With the help of over 50 registered volunteers we run a variety of sport programs from SeptemberJune of each year, for about 120 registered athletes that are intellectually challenged. Our numerous activities are funded through local fund-raising, B.C. Gaming Commission, an annual registration fee of $20, and direct weekly charges for some sport-specific programs to cover the costs of venue rental (for example swimming or bowling). All athletes are welcome and we can always use more volunteers. Please come and join us, we have a lot of fun!
