Kiwanis Village Nanaimo - Independent Housing

Located in central Nanaimo, Kiwanis Manor is ideal for active and independent older adults who desire subsidized apartments. While the Manor does not provide hospitality services, its very nature lends itself to a simpler way of suite living. By reducing the demands of housework, tenants are able to enjoy time with neighbours and friends, while living in a safe and secure environment. The Manor is exceptionally well-maintained. The 30 one-bedroom suites all have full kitchens, private patios or balconies and access to the large common lounge. Living at the Manor, tenants are encouraged to attend site-wide community events, fostering a strong sense of place and belonging. Tenants generally pay 30% of their after-tax income and are responsible for a security deposit and monthly utilities. If you receive home care services from Island Health or any other provider, these can be continued or initiated when you move in.
