About this service
An established community service, Kiwanis Village Adult Day Program is open five days a week from 10am 3pm. Kiwanis Village is well known for facilitating connection and friendship for participants, connecting like-minded folks and creating some space for caregivers to refresh and renew. Space is purposefully designed and well supported. Through intentional programming, day programming strives to nurture every facet of well-being for older people. From the physical and cognitive, to the emotional and spiritual. The Day Program uniquely tailors activities through listening and responding to the wishes of residents, and community attendees. The dedicated day staff are educated, dedicated and engaged in the creation of responsive programming that understands the opportunities for inclusive programming. DAY PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS HAVE A GLIMPSE INTO VILLAGE LIFE, making possible future transitions easier and smoother. With an inviting, home-like environment it truly feels like a day spent with friends. Stories told over coffee, nutritious meals shared, activities enjoyed, the beauty is in the simplicity of friendship, loving support and heartfelt connection. AT A GLANCE: Promotes an active lifestyle through physical, emotional & spiritual support. Provides nutritious lunches & snacks. Provides assistance with personal care and SPA tub bath. Offers hairdresser and barber services. Includes recreational and therapeutic programs which include: Exercises and active games Bingo, cards and cognitive and reminiscing activities Entertainment Gardening and day outings Special events Supports clients and care-givers during lifestyle changes, illness & emotional challenges. Helps facilitate the transition for those integrating into a Health Care Facility.
