About this service
Adjacent to Safe Harbour House, The Bridge provides long term supportive stays to clients who have reached a level of stability in their recovery but benefit from continuing support. The program is designed to continue the stabilization process and provide assistance with life skills and relearning independent living.
Access is through assessment by Nanaimo Mental Health and Substance Use Services. Clients are exclusively referred by Adult Community Support Services (ACSS) Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT) and Community Support Team (CST).
The Bridge philosophy is based on five core principles:

The Bridge is a registered assisted living program. Capital funding and initial operating funding provided by Service Canada. Ongoing operational funding is provided by the Ministry of Social Development and Social Innovation, Island Health, donations and fundraising.
