About this service
Haven Society's Responder Program is a volunteer based initiative that provides support to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault during a Forensic Nurses Examination at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
The Responder Volunteer provides emotional support, shares resources and advocates for the survivor. The Responder Volunteer receives specific training on working with survivors and will be able to guide them through the process of having a forensic exam, reporting to police, and provide information on how Haven Society can help them.
