About this service
On a daily basis many queer youth are faced with discrimination, harassment and violence at home, in their communities, and at school. As well, many queer youth are experiencing high rates of depression, anxiety, suicidal idealization, self-harm, and substance at an alarmingly high rate. We as allies want to minimize the risk that the queer youth in our community face. This was the idea behind the creation of the group Generation Q. Our mission is to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive space that allows youth to connect, and openly express their concerns regarding issues impacting their lives and the LGBTQQIP2SAA community. As service providers, and members of the community we have an obligation to talk openly and honestly about issues facing queer youth, and work together to do everything we can to eliminate those fears and work together to initiate positive change. Come join Generation Q at the Teen Centre every Thursday evening for a fun safe and supportive group.
