About this service
Each year, Nanaimo-Ladysmith Schools Foundation provides District Initiative Grants (DIG), to Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools for projects that focus on students and meet NLSF's three criteria: 'Student Leadership', 'Community Development' and 'Social Responsibility'. Preference is given to projects that include participation of vulnerable students. Grants are a minimum of $2,500 and a maximum of $5,000. Since 2013, NLSF has granted $66,100 for 16 special projects. Grants are made possible through a bequest from the late Joseph T.A. Lee.
