About this service
COVID19 Update: All employment support services will be delivered by telephone or online means.
Provides job search and employment supports to individuals living with mental health and/or substance use challenges and who want to pursue employment. Employment Support Workers and Job Coaches, based in Nanaimo and Courtenay, provide employment counselling, preparatory workshops, and on-site support for work experience and employment placements.
The Employment Program focuses on the program participants employment goals and preferences; personalized counselling and support; and rapid job search and placement. Support services begin when the client identifies as job ready and continues as long as the participant wants and needs the support.
Individuals living with mental health and/or substance use challenges, who want employment, may access the Employment Program. No referrals are necessary.
