About this organization

KEEPS is a registered non-profit established in 1998. The mission of the Society is to maintain the health of the Kanaka Creek watersheds natural ecosystem through education, community involvement, scientific research, land preservation, and partnerships based on stewardship principles.

The purpose of the Society is to promote appreciation, understanding, protection and the enjoyment of the Kanaka Creek Regional Park and the Kanaka Watersheds natural and historical features. The Society advises Metro Vancouver Regional Parks with an aim to protect the natural ecosystems, to maintain recreational opportunities in harmony with nature, and to promote public knowledge and stewardship of Kanaka Creek Regional Parks natural environment.

KEEPS partners with Metro Vancouver Regional Parks in events and programming at the Kanaka Creek Watershed Stewardship Centre, which includes the Bell-Irving Hatchery, the George Ross Learning Room, and wetlands.
