About this service
This open ended training program targets challenged youth populations. Expanding on our Supported Volunteer Program we offer a low-pressure, supported environment allowing participants to learn work skills at their own pace. While the main focus is animal husbandry and farm maintenance, there are many other job opportunities around the farm including landscaping, painting, work in our retail store, fencing, repairs and recycling. This program enables participants to enhance physical fitness and gain meaningful work experience in a safe sheltered environment. The horse industry is labour intensive and contributes approximately 7200 full-time equivalent jobs. Many of these jobs are low skill, entry level part time jobs that are a perfect fit for our students.
