We support newcomers facing multiple challenges in adjusting to life in Canada such as: Family breakdown Language barriers Social isolation Economic pressures Single parenting Domestic violence Medical/mental health concerns Pre-migration trauma Prolonged previous stay in refugee camps Services Services are available in select first languages Information, orientation and referrals on Canadian systems including schools, health care, housing and recreation Confidential support to help adjust to living in Canada, both for the individual and family Strategies to deal with stress of settling in a new country Confidence to seek services independently in the future Targeted supports for individuals, families, youth, young adults and LGTBQ+.
Who can use it?
Permanent resident Protected Person as defined in S. 95 of IRPA Individuals who have been selected to become permanent residents, and who have been informed by a letter from IRCC Priority given to newcomers who have been in Canada five (5) years or less and those facing multiple vulnerabilities
